4 of a family killed in Sirajganj road crash

Four persons of a family were killed and another was injured in a road accident at Hatikumrul area in Sirajganj district early Monday. The deceased are: Jasim Uddin (65), his wife Maina Khatun (60) and their two sons Jamal Uddin (45) and Kamal Uddin (40) of Narsinghpur village under Bagmara police station in Rajshahi district.
Md Tazuddin, Officer-in-Charge of Salongga Police Station told The Daily Sky that, the accident took place at the Hatikumrul roundabout on the Dhaka-Uttaranchal highway connecting to the west end of the Bangabandhu Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge early Monday, while a Dhaka-bound truck hit a private car coming from opposite direction, leaving the four members of a family dead on the spot.
The injured private car driver was rescued in a critical condition and admitted to local hospital. The bodies of the deceased were recovered and sent those to Sirajganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was lodged with the respective police station in this connection.
