386 BNP-Jamaat men sued in Sylhet 17 cases

Seventeen cases have been filed in six police stations of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) in connection with violence during BNP-Jamaat's hartal blockade programme.
The cases were filed in the last 13 days since October 28.
Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Azbahar Ali Sheikh, confirmed the matter on Friday.
Most of the cases were filed by police. Leaders and activists of BNP, Jubo Dal, Chatra Dal and Swechasebak Dal have been accused in most of the cases.
From October 28 to November 9, three vehicles were set on fire and seven vehicles vandalized.
Apart from this, 10 policemen were injured while performing their duties, said the SMP official.
According to the police, 386 leaders and activists of BNP-Jamaat have been made accused and 812 people have been accused as unnamed in the cases filed with six police stations.
The police are carrying out their operation to arrest accused people in the case, said the police official.
