
326 rounds of Chinese Rifle ammunition recovered in Munshiganj

A total of 326 rounds of Chinese rifle government-issued ammunition have been recovered by the Detective Branch (DB) police in Tongibari, Munshiganj on Saturday.
The ammunition was found in the pond of Alfaz Uddin in the Uttar Paikpara village of the upazila.
It is learnt on Saturday night at around 8 pm , acting on a tip-off, DB police recovered the ammunition stored in plastic containers under water in the pond. It is suspected that these bullets were looted from the police station on August 5.
According to press release, the ammunition was found in an abandoned state in a tin box stored inside a plastic sack, tied to a tree branch with rope, submerged waist-deep in the pond beside Alfaz Uddin’s residence in Dakshin Paikpara, Tongibari upazila. It is believed that miscreants with ill intentions had hidden the looted bullets under water at the mentioned location.
Tongibari Police Station OC Mohidul Islam ssid, the bullets were recovered from the bottom of the pond by the Detective Branch and confirmed they were government-issued.
