3 children drown in separate incidents in Chandpur

Three children drowned in separate incidents in Chandpur on Saturday.
The bodies of the children were brought to Chandpur General Hospital in the afternoon from various locations. Dr. Naser Abul Hasan of the hospital confirmed that all three children were brought in dead, having drowned between the morning and noon.
The deceased were identified as Maimuna (3) from Ramdashi in Chandpur Sadar Upazila, Miraj (1.5 years) from the Sokdi area of the same Upazila, and Junayed Hossain (2) from Rajargaon in Hajiganj Upazila.
According to the families of Maimuna and Junayed, a pond was located near their homes. When the children suddenly went missing, they were later found floating in the water. Family members were occupied with household chores at the time.
Meanwhile, Miraj’s family said he drowned in a pond while playing near their home in the morning. Upon realising he was missing, they began searching for him and eventually found his body floating in the water before taking him to the hospital.
