28 drums stolen palm oil seized : Two arrested, one fugitive in N'ganj

Police have seized 28 drums of stolen palm oil and arrested two smugglers in Bandar upazila of Narayanganj. Another member of the smuggling gang managed to escape during the police operation.
The arrestees are Shahadat Hossain (30), son of Shafiuddin Sheikh of Vadrason area, and Shamim (32), son of Altaf Hossain Mia, both residents of the same village under Bandar upazila. The fugitive has been identified as Nasir, though his father’s name is yet to be known.
Sub-Inspector Abdul Motaleb Bhuiyan of Bandar Police Station filed a case against the arrestees and the fugitive. Police produced the two arrestees before court on Thursday (21 August) noon in connection with the case.
Earlier, on Wednesday night around 2 a.m., police conducted an operation in Bejergao area of Bandar upazila, near the paved road beside fugitive Uddin’s house. From a warehouse and a tea stall there, they seized the stolen palm oil drums and arrested the two smugglers.
