24-year-old dies in motorcycle accident on DU campus

A 24-year-old youth died, and two of his friends were injured in a road accident near TSC on the Dhaka University campus late on Wednesday, police said.
The deceased, identified as Sajeeb, was an employee at a sports shop in Dhaka’s Gulistan. The injured are Ishan, 22, and Mojahid, 23, according to Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Outpost.
Sajeeb’s friend Md Sohel said the trio had ridden on two motorbikes to attend the wedding ceremony of another friend Sajeeb's sister in the city’s Bakshi Bazar area on Wednesday night.
After the wedding, they went for a leisure ride. Sajeeb was riding one bike with Ishan as his pillion passenger, while Mojahid was on the second bike.
At the TSC area, Sajeeb’s bike collided with Mojahid’s, leaving all three critically injured.
They were rushed to DMCH, where doctors pronounced Sajeeb dead upon arrival at around 2 am, Inspector Faruk said.
Following a family appeal, Sajeeb's body was handed over without an autopsy.
The injured, Ishan and Mojahid, were released after receiving treatment, Sohel added.
