18 robbers arrested in Tongi

Eighteeb robbers were arrested by Tongi East police station in a special operation in the industrial city of Tongi to prevent robbery.
On Thursday night, they were arrested from the area of New Bazaar, Machimpur, Madhumita Road and Station Road under Tongi East Police Station. 05 daggers, 02 switch gears, 10 knives used in robbery were recovered from them. The robbers were sent to court on Friday afternoon.
The arrested are Anwar Hossain (28), Sagar (23), Raja Hossain Vishal (20), Md Durant (22), Manik Mia (29), Azarul (19), Tuhin (19), Sajib (23), Shubo ( 22) Sagar (22), Abu Bakr Siddique (23), Hasan (18), Shubo (28), Emdadul (14), Shubo (17), Siam (15), Nashir (16) and Sariful Islam (23). According to the police, as part of the ongoing anti-robbery operation, raids were conducted at various places in Tongi and they were arrested. Meanwhile, various domestic sharp weapons were recovered from them. Two separate cases have been registered against them.
OC of Tongi East Police Station Faridul Islam said that they were arrested during a regular police operation to prevent robbery. Such operation to control law and order will continue.
