16-kg 'boal' sold for half a lakh taka in Rajbari

A boal fish weighing 16 kg was caught in Miraj Sheikh's spear from Kushahata char area of Padma river in Daulatdia of Goalando upazila of Rajbari. The fish was caught in the early hours of Saturday.
Later, the fish was brought for sale in Daulatdia Kesmat Molla's fish farm in the morning, and the local fishmonger of the ferry ghat was auctioned. Chandu Molla bought the fish for a total of 49 thousand 600 taka at the price of 3100 taka per kg.
Fisherman md. Chandu Molla said, there is a lot of demand for Boal fish from Padma. In the morning, I went to the Ghate area and found out that a Boal fish weighing 16 kg was caught in the spear. Later, when the fish came up in the open auction, I bought it for a total of 49 thousand 600 taka per kg. Later, I brought the fish to my house and sold it to a businessman in Dhaka at the rate of 3150 taka per kg for a total of 50 thousand 400 taka.
