15 injured in picnic bus-truck collision in Manikchari

At least 15 passengers in the bus were injured in a collision between a picnic bus and a truck at Manikchari on the Khagrachari-Chittagong road. The accident took place on Friday at 8:30 am in Tintahari Guchchagram area of the upazila.
According to eyewitnesses and police sources, on Friday morning, 27 teachers-employees of Khagrachari Police Line School on a Shanti Paribahan bus (Dhaka Metro-B 14-6964) left for Chittagong for a family picnicClashes with15 passengers in the bus were more or less injured in the incident. Later, the police, army and locals rescued the injured and sent them to Manikchari Upazila Health Complex.
Srabshree Chakma, an injured passenger in the bus, said, 'We were going to Chittagong's Anwara Parkichar beach for a family picnic. The accident happened on the way. Those who were not injured at all or were slightly injured went back to Khagrachari'.
Manikachari police station OC)l Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan Rubel said, 'Immediately after the incident, the police and the army rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital with the help of the locals. However, except for one person, no one was seriously injured. The driver of the truck escaped immediately after the incident .
