A young man named Md. Solaiman (22) died after being electrocuted in Betagi, Barguna.

The accident occurred in the Molla Bari area of Ward No. 3 of Betagi Municipality on Friday afternoon. The deceased, Solaiman, is the son of Wahab Ali Molla of the area.

Local and family sources said that Solaiman was accidentally electrocuted while operating an electric fan in his house at noon and fell unconscious. Later, family members quickly rescued him and took him to Betagi Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead after examination.
Family members of the deceased said that Solaiman had gotten married a year ago. His sudden death has cast a shadow of deep grief among the family and relatives.

The deceased's father, Wahab Ali Molla, said, "Solaiman was suddenly electrocuted while turning on the electric fan in the house and fell unconscious on the ground. We quickly took him to the hospital, but the doctor declared him dead. I never thought I would lose my son like this."

Dr. Ruhul Amin, the medical officer on duty at Betagi Upazila Health Complex, said he died on the spot due to electrocution. He was taken to the hospital and declared dead after tests.

Betagi Police Station OC Md. Harun-or-Rashid said that the police visited the scene after receiving information about the death of a young man due to electrocution. Since there was no complaint from the family and in view of the application, permission was given to bury the body without an autopsy. Preparations are underway to file an accidental death (UD) case at the police station in this incident.

The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the family of the deceased and the local people.
