‘Prof. Dr. S H Mahmud Trust Fund’ established at DU

A new trust fund titled ‘Prof. Dr. S H Mahmud Trust Fund’ has been established at Dhaka University (DU). Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman was present as chief guest on this occasion.
Prof. Dr. S H Mahmud of DU Psychology Department handed over a cheque for Tk. 25 lac to DU Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed today June 04, 2023 at the VC’s Lounge of the university to set up this trust fund. Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad, Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker and Director of Public Relations Office Mahmood Alam were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this trust fund every year one meritorious student who will secure the highest CGPA in M.S examination from DU Psychology Department will be given Gold Medal. Besides, four meritorious and financially challenged students of 1st year Undergraduate Program of the same department will be given scholarships.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the donor for setting up this trust fund. He hoped that meritorious as well as financially challenged students of DU Psychology Department would be highly benefited and inspired by this Trust Fund.
