‘Militant’ arrested in Jashore

Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police has arrested an alleged member of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), a banned militant outfit, under Kotwali Police Station area in Jashore.
The member named Sijan Hossain, 19, was captured on Saturday, Mahfujul Alam Russel, SP (Media and Awareness) of the ATU, revealed this information to mass media in a press release on Sunday.
Sijan, who is wanted in a case with Panchbibi Police Station under the Anti-Terrorism Act on 21 September last year, is an intermediate second year student at a college in Jashore, said the police officer.
He and his associates were spreading publicity on militancy on social media platforms, said Russel.
