On the occasion of observing World Population Day in Pirojpur, a discussion meeting was held at 11 AM on Monday in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner, Shahed Abdur Razzak Saif Mizan Auditorium, under the chairmanship of Deputy Director of Family Planning Department, Tuhin Kanti Ghosh.
The Deputy Commissioner of Pirojpur, Mohammad Ashraful Alam Khan, was present as the chief guest and delivered his speech.
This year’s theme was -
"To build a family of choice in a just and promising world, youth empowerment is needed."
Discussing the theme, the Deputy Commissioner said that we have to pay attention to collecting various stories focusing on youth empowerment. If we can increase spending on adolescent and youth-friendly health services and build their capacity to play a meaningful role in state governance decision-making, we will be able to move towards becoming a developed country. We need to be aware of avoiding teenage pregnancies, which can help build a healthy and strong life. To give birth to healthy and strong children, it is necessary to ensure healthy and strong mothers. This should be kept in mind.
He further said that if health services during childbirth can be ensured at all service centers, then both the mother and child’s lives are secured and health services are guaranteed.
On the occasion, Deputy Director of Pirojpur Family Planning Department, Tuhin Kanti Ghosh, said that from 11 July to 13 July, special service activities have been conducted at all service centers of the Family Planning Department in Pirojpur district. In addition, special programs are running to raise awareness about maternal and child health.
Special guest Md. Alauddin Bhuiya Jony was present at the discussion meeting, along with the Civil Surgeon’s representative, journalists, and workers from various service centers.
