Workshop on language preservation held in Rangamati

Rangamati Correspondent: Language is very important for a nation.So , it is very important to preserve the languages of ethnic groups and we need to come forward from our respective positions to preserve our mother tongue.
 
Rangamati District Council Chairman Krishibid Kajal Talukder spoke as the chief guest at the day-long workshop on Preservation of Ethnic Languages of Rangamati district at the Rangamati Hill District Council Conference Room  on Sunday morning. 
 
Chairman Krishibid Kajal Talukder said that there are some communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts whose population is very small. They also have languages. But due to not preserving the language, it is being lost day by day. Therefore, we have to think about ensuring that the languages of ethnic groups are not lost. 
 
Professor Dr., Director of the International Mother Language Institute, spoke at the workshop. The workshop, chaired by Muhammad Asaduzzaman, was attended by Abul Kalam, Additional Director (Admin, Finance and Training) of the International Mother Language Institute, Khondaker Mohammad Rizaul Karim, Chief Executive Officer of Rangamati Hill District Council, Mohammad Noor-e-Alam Siddiqui, Additional Director (Language, Research and Planning) of the International Mother Language Institute, and others.
 
About 42 people, including people from different ethnic groups, cultural activists, poets and writers, participated in this workshop.
