Solutions has announced a strategic collaboration with Fujitsu to help Japanese companies comply with the country’s newly introduced climate reporting standards.

The partnership combines UL Solutions’ ULTRUS platform—including its UL 360 ESG data management software—with Fujitsu’s local market expertise and client base. The initiative aims to assist businesses in meeting sustainability disclosure rules developed by the Sustainability Standards Board of Japan (SSBJ), which align with global guidelines from the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).

“Strong ESG reporting is now a core business requirement for Japanese companies,” said Hidehiko Yamajo, regional vice president for Japan at UL Solutions. “This partnership will help simplify ESG compliance and generate business value.”

The SSBJ’s new standards are currently voluntary but are set to become mandatory in 2027. These build on earlier requirements from Japan’s Financial Services Agency and the Tokyo Stock Exchange to increase sustainability reporting among listed companies.

Fujitsu said it will integrate UL Solutions’ tools with its own technologies—including AI and blockchain—under its “FujitsuUvance” model to enhance ESG management and decision-making.

In addition to its software, UL Solutions also provides environmental declarations, zero-waste validations, and other sustainability services. Its ULTRUS platform has been recognized as a leader in ESG and EHS software by research firm Verdantix.
