BNP’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, has expressed his condolences to the family of Chhatra Dal activist Apurba (25), who was fatally stabbed by assailants in Chashara, Narayanganj. Tarique Rahman spoke to Apurba's family over the phone, inquiring about their well-being and offering his support.

On Monday night, Senior Joint General Secretary of the central Chhatra Dal, Shyamal Malum, visited Apurba’s home in Masdair, Narayanganj. He was accompanied by Chhatra Dal’s central vice president Ashiq Rahman, Narayanganj Metropolitan Jubo Dal’s member secretary Shahed Ahmed, former senior joint general secretary of Metropolitan Chhatra Dal Azizul Islam Rajib, and other leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal.

During the phone call, Tarique Rahman told Apurba’s parents, “I have no words to console you. I, too, have lost my brother. There is no greater pain than losing a child.”

He assured them that BNP would do everything possible to bring those responsible for this incident to justice. “We will stand by your family in any way we can,” he added.

Tarique Rahman further stated that in the past 16 years, many BNP leaders and activists have suffered oppression. He urged Apurba’s family to reach out to the party whenever they need assistance, promising their continued support.

It is noteworthy that on Sunday (March 9), a mugger named Samrat got into an altercation with an elderly man in Balur Maath, Chashara.
