Secrets of 'Bhandari Mula'

Farmers can be seen buying and selling radishes of different varieties and sizes in Mizbhander area from 3 days before Urs . A lot of radishes have been sold in the last two days. Each is selling up to Tk 150-250.
Agriculture office sources in Fatikchari upazila said, this hybrid variety of radish is produced in the pastures of Halda river, Dhurung and Sarta canals. Especially in Nazirhat municipality, Suabil, Sundarpur, Halda river basin, Bhandari radish is cultivated.
Winter vegetables are produced on 1500 hectares of paddy fields in Phatikchari. Bhandari radish is cultivated along with other vegetables in these pastures.
Meanwhile, a group of scientists from the Regional Agricultural Research Center of Hathajari are continuing their research by visiting the Haldar Char of Fatikchari to uncover the mystery of Bhandari Radish in Fatikchari.
Fatikchari Agriculture Officer Hasanuzzaman said, the pasture soil is very fertile and the crops produced are very nutritious. Bhandari Muller bumper yield this year. The interest of farmers in this cultivation is increasing.
