Saraswati Puja was celebrated at Dhaka University on Monday in a festive mood.

The main event of this major religious festival of the Hindu community was held at Jagannath Hall.

This year, pujas were held at 72 puja mandap of various departments of the university, including the central puja mandap of Jagannath Hall. In addition, Saraswati Puja was held separately at Rokeya Hall, Shamsun Nahar Hall, Bangladesh Kuwait Friendship Hall, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, and Kabi Sufia Kamal.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan visited the Jagannath Hall puja mandap as the chief guest yesterday evening. During this, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Jagannath Hall Principal Debashish Pal along with deans of various faculties, principals of various halls, teachers and guests were present. At this time, the cover of the magazine 'Shukla' published by the Jagannath Hall Saraswati Puja Celebration Committee was unveiled.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan greeted the teachers, students and devotees of the Hindu community on the occasion of the Puja. He said, this colorful arrangement of Saraswati Puja at Jagannath Hall is part of the tradition of Dhaka University.

Apart from the Hindu community, many people of other religions and communities have come to this festival. This festival is a unique example of our harmony. Such festivals are an indication of the fact that we are still united in the midst of the nation's crisis.

It is mentionable that Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan and guests visited the puja mandap of various student halls. The principal of the respective halls, residential teachers, students and guests were present at the time.
