Although there is a bridge, no mmunication system.

There has been no development of the connecting road on both sides of the bridge.

Even in the last 9 years, during the Awamili government, a 39-foot long bridge was constructed on Fatika Abdul Latif road over the morass at a cost of Tk 40 lakh.

Then the bridge was inaugurated by former MP Barrister Anisul Isram Mahmud. The bridge is of no use as the road on both sides is not filled with soil. Due to this, the movement of people on both sides is suffering. Especially the residents of East Dewan Nagar and Fatika Ward No. 3 of Mekhal Union and Municipality of Hathazari Upazila. Despite huge expenditure on the development of communication system on both sides, the people of that area suffered for nine years. The bridge is now a blight on the locals. It is known that this bridge has been built over Fatika Mara canal of Hathazari Municipality in connection with Mekhal and Union of Upazila in the last fiscal year 2014-2015 under the Directorate of Disaster Management.

The bridge was constructed at a cost of 40 lakh rupees, but it has not been used for the last 9 years. Although there was human communication system only on foot, car communication was isolated. Due to which the residents of the area said that Mad Gaza Asar is held every night on the bridge. In the public interest, the villagers demanded that the earthwork of the connecting road on both sides of the bridge be filled on an urgent basis. Upazila Project Implementation Officer Niaz Morshed said that when the bridge was built. At that time I was in charge as a project officer in this upazila. I am still in charge and assured to do the work quickly.

Hathazari Upazila UNO A.B.M. Moshiuzzaman said,"I will cooperate in the development of the road on both sides to facilitate communication on both sides.
