Officials of the Small Enterprises Credit Project (SECP), operated by Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB), held a press conference in Rajshahi demanding the regularization of their jobs, payment of outstanding financial benefits, and an end to various irregularities and inconsistencies.
At the press conference held at a restaurant in Rajshahi city on Saturday. SECP UFO Mohammad Rezaul Alam presented a written statement.
He stated that although the project was established in 2002 and currently employs 42 officials and staff members who have been serving for nearly two decades, their jobs have not yet been made permanent.
During the press conference, the employees demanded the immediate integration of SECP, along with its workforce, into RAKUB. They also called for the implementation of annual increments and provident fund benefits from the date of their appointment, the provision of special financial benefits announced by the government, promotion to higher grades, enforcement of a promotion policy, and the assurance of all other due benefits. In addition, they demanded the removal of the current Project Director.
The speakers alleged that while service rules regarding duties and disciplinary measures are being enforced, financial benefits are not being provided.
Officials and employees from Rajshahi, Natore, Naogaon, Chapainawabganj, Bogura, Joypurhat, Sirajganj, and Pabna districts were present at the press conference.
