Protests at KU against rape, murder

A protest rally was held at Khulna University (KU) to protest the recent series of rapes, brutal murders and culture of impunity in the country. Students organized the program in front of the university's 'Indomitable Bangla' sculpture at 5:30 pm on Friday. The rally demanded speedy trial and exemplary punishment for the rapists and murderers.
The students participating in the rally raised various protest slogans. They alleged that despite the number of rapes and murders occurring in the country one after another, the level of crime is increasing day by day due to the lack of effective justice.
At the rally, fourth-year university student Zahid said, "When those who were elected by the people and given the responsibility of running the state take such atrocities lightly and act like a mockery, it is shameful for the entire nation."
At the rally, students strongly urged the relevant authorities to take effective steps to prevent the recurrence of such heinous incidents in the future and to ensure women's safety.
