Prof JMA Hannan Joined BUHS as the Vice-Chancellor

Professor Dr JMA Hannan has joined Bangladesh University of Health Sciences as the Vic-Chancellor on 1 June 2025. Lastly, he served as Dean at the School of Pharmacy and Public Health at the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), as the Founding Head, Dept of Pharmacy at North South University and as Professor at East West University. He has also served as a Member of the Syndicate and Academic Council at different Universities.
He started his career as a Researcher in Biomedical Research Group at BIRDEM. He was awarded Research Fellowship of International Program in the Chemical Sciences (IPICS), Sweden and has been Visiting Scientist at Laboratory de Physiopathologie de la Nutrition of the University of Paris and Visiting Faculty of innumerable Universities including Universiti Kebangsaan, Malaysia.
Prof Hannan acquired PhD degree in Pharmacology from the University of Ulster, UK. He has over hundred publications in peer review journals and attended innumerable international prestigious conferences at home and abroad. Prof Hannan authored a book entitled ‘Medical & Pharmaceutical Statistics’. He was the recipient of a good number of Research Grants from home and abroad. He has contributed to introducing Pharmacy Program in a good number of Private Universities.
