A press conference under the banner of "Five Abused Sisters" was held at Faridpur Press Club Meeting Room on Monday.
The press conference was presided over by Sheikh Monir Hossain, Vice-President of the Faridpur Press Club and it was conducted by the club's General Secretary, Mahbub Hossain Piyal.
The conference was organized to protest the misappropriation of property and oppression by Mohammad Noor Nabi, Convener of the Madhukhali Municipal Krishsk Dal and his younger brother, former Jubo League leader Jhilu.
During the press conference, the victims—Selina Akter, Beli, Shiuli Akter, Shimu, and Rimi presented various allegations to the journalists.

They informed the media, "We are five sisters and two brothers.Our parents have passed away. Our two brothers are forcibly occupying all the property left by our parents, abusing their power. They do not allow us, the five sisters, to enter the boundaries of the house. Even when we try to visit our father's grave, our brothers' wives and sons verbally abuse us and threaten our lives.
On 8 February 2025, our mother passed away, after which Noor Nabi (aged 50), currently the Convener of Madhukhali Municipal Krishsk Dal misused the power of the BNP and, with his party-backed goons, evicted us from the house at 3 a.m. We spent the entire night on the street, grieving our mother's death. If anyone tries to help us, our brothers and their associates obstruct them.
On 8 May 2025, when we executed a deed to sell a portion of our rightful share of our father's property, Noor Nabi’s party cadres snatched the executed deed from us through his men."
The matter has been arbitrated multiple times in Madhukhali, and the Madhukhali Police Station is aware of the incident. The sisters stated that they are now living in fear due to threats from their brothers. They urged journalists for full cooperation to ensure they can legally obtain their rightful share of their father's property.
