Pragati Youth Group champions in final match of Sandwip Premier League

Pragati Youth Group emerged champions in the final match of Sandwip Premier League organized by Sandwip Upazila Sports Association.
The final match was held at 2 pm on Thursday at the RPL ground located on the Rahmatpur seashore in Sandwip. The final match was contested by Dweep Vikings vs Pragati Youth Group.
A total of 16 teams participated in this cricket tournament called SPL, initiated by the newly formed Sandwip Upazila Sports Association. A total of 31 matches were held including the final match. The champion team of the tournament was given a cash prize of one lakh taka and the runner-up team was given a prize money of 60 thousand taka. In addition, there was an attractive cash prize for the man of the match in each match. In addition, there was a crest and jersey for the game changer in each match. The event organized by the Upazila Sports Association on the occasion of the final match and prize distribution was presided over by the Sports Association member A.S.M. Shawkat Akbar Talukder and chaired by UNO and Upazila Sports Association Ad- Hoc Committee Convener Rigyan Chakma. The invited guests were Sandwip Police Station OC A.K.M. Shafiqul Alam Chowdhury, Upazila Engineer Abdul Alim, Bangladesh Krishi Bank Branch Manager Aktaruzzaman Sujan, Sandwip Press Club Secretary and Sports Association member Omar Faisal, Sandwip Cricket Academy Director and Sports Association member Ariful Alam Khaled. The speakers at the event thanked the organizers for organizing such a big prize money tournament in the history of Sandwip in a very short time by the newly formed Ad Hoc Committee of Sandwip Sports Association.
UNO Regan Chakma requested the expatriates, specially those from the USA, to come forward to organize various events including football, cricket, volleyball, swimming, badminton, and chess at the Sandwip Sports Association.
