Zubaer, Pirojpur 

 An event focused on eliminating child labour and re-integrating dropped-out children into the mainstream education system was held at the Shaheed Omar Farooq Auditorium in Pirojpur Sadar Upazila on Thursday. 

Organized by the Pirojpur Area Development Program of World Vision Bangladesh in collaboration with the Pirojpur District and Upazila administrations, the program was held to mark the formal declaration of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila as a dropout-free upazila. Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Abu Sayeed attended the event as the chief guest.

World Vision Deputy Director of Field Operations Jenny Mildred D'Cruz, Lead Child Protection Advocacy and Engagement Stala Rupa Mallick, Senior Operations Director Chandan Z. Gomez, and Area Development Program Manager Linda Daho participated as special guests.

Speakers at the assembly emphasized the necessity of protecting child rights, preventing child labor, and establishing a safe, child-friendly learning environment through coordinated efforts involving government agencies, non-governmental organizations, educators, parents, and community members.

During the session, organizers highlighted the milestones achieved in returning out-of-school children to classrooms across the upazila. As part of the program, 220 children received educational supplies including books, notebooks, and pens, alongside a financial grant of Tk 8,000 each. Furthermore, following specialized training, ten varieties of vegetable seeds were distributed among the children for homestead cultivation.

Senior officials from the district and upazila administrations, World Vision Bangladesh representatives, educators, parents, students, and local stakeholders attended the event.
