National Youth Day celebrated with various events in Mirsarai

With the theme 'Skilled youth will build the country, Bangladesh for all', National Youth Day-2026 was celebrated in Mirsarai, Chittagong through various arrangements.
The day was officially inaugurated by releasing pigeons at the Upazila Parishad premises at 11 am on Sunday. Later, a colorful rally was taken out. After circumambulating various important roads of the upazila, the rally went to the Upazila Parishad auditorium and met for a discussion meeting.
UNO Mohammad Zahidul Islam spoke as the chief guest at the discussion meeting chaired by Upazila Youth Development Officer Shah Alam and moderated by Assistant Upazila Youth Development Officer Shamsul Alam.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tanvirul Quader, Upazila Agriculture Officer Pratap Chandra Roy, Livestock Officer Shuvo Sutradhar, Social Service Officer Sabrina Rahman Lina, Fisheries Officer Ariful Islam, ICT Officer Mohiuddin Jilani and Project Implementation Officer Mohammad Ismail were present as special guests at the time.
Arafatul Hasan, one of the entrepreneurs, and Imam Hossain, one of the successful self-employed, spoke at the event. Officials from various government departments and leaders of youth organizations were present at the event.
Speaking as the chief guest, Upazila Executive Officer Mohammad Zahidul Islam said, "The role of the youth in the overall development and economic progress of the country is immense. In the present era, by receiving modern training, improving skills and becoming entrepreneurs, the youth can create their own employment and make an important contribution to the national economy."
Upazila Youth Development Officer Shah Alam presented details of various training programs of the Youth Development Department. He urged the unemployed youth of the area to acquire skills through training and become self-reliant.
At the end of the program, awards were given to the best self-employed, best entrepreneur, and best youth organization and organizer. Youth loans, tree saplings, and certificates were also distributed.
