Mother, son killed in bus crash in Patkelghata

A mother and son were killed in a crash in the Kumira area of the Satkhira-Khulna highway. The father and daughter were injured in the accident.
The incident took place at Kadamtala intersection near the Kumira bus stand in Patkelghata on Friday afternoon.
The deceased, Rita Sadhu (30), is the wife of Apurba Sadhu of Kapilmuni area of Khulna district. Their son's name is Sourav Sadhu (5).
Patkelghata Police Station Officer-in charge (OC) Mainuddin said that Apurba Sadhu was going to his father in-laws' house in Sagardari village of Jessore district on a motorcycle with his wife and son. On the way, when they reached the Kadamtala intersection area, an Imad Paribahan bus that left from Dhaka hit the motorcycle from behind and fled.
The mother and son died on the spot. The injured father and daughter were rescued by locals and sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital. The OC said that legal action will be taken in this incident.
