Memo submitted to UNO, OC alleging 'false accusations' in Sandwip murder case

Several leaders and activists of the nationalist party BNP have submitted a memorandum to the UNO and OC Sandwip Police Station, alleging that several leaders and activists of the party have been conspiratorially accused in the Rifat murder case in Sandwip on Monday morning.
The president and general secretary of the union-level BNP, as well as numerous leaders and activists of its organs and associate organizations, handed over the memorandum separately to the UNO and OC at the Sandwip upazila premises.
The memorandum states that in the Rifat murder case, accused number -1 Shawkat Ali Raju and accused number 5 Md. Alamgir, along with several other innocent people—such as Md. Fulmia, Md. Jabed, Omar Faruk Sumon, Md. Dildar Hossain Ripon, Md. Rubel, Md. Jahangir and Md. Ilias—have been implicated in the case as part of a planned political conspiracy. The leaders claim that they have no involvement in the case but have been framed in a harassment case solely because of their political identity.
Present at the submission of the memorandum were Master Abul Kashem, Nijhum Khan, Gazi Md. Hanif, Fakhrul Islam, Hasanuzzaman Mamun, Shafiqur Rahman, Salauddin Chowdhury, Mahfuzur Rahman Jhantu, Abdur Rahim, Abul Kalam Azad, Md. Shamsuddin Member, Shahadat Hossain, Md. Mohiuddin Bahadur, Alamgir Hossain Member, Delwar Hossain Fulmia, Md. Farid, Yusuf Ali Member, Ismail Hossain Member, Anwar Hossain Ripon, Md. Alauddin, Alhaj Solaiman Badsha, Md. Idris Alam, Md. Humayun Kabir, Md. Ibrahim Raju, Abdur Rahim Chairman, Humayun Kabir Bahar, Haji Nizam Uddin and more than a hundred leaders and activists.
The leaders said that in the interest of a fair justice system and to stop political harassment, the false accused in this case must be acquitted immediately. Otherwise, they also warned that they will organize a larger movement in the future.
