
Memo submitted to Chief Adviser demanding implementation of EPZ at Gobindaganj

A memorandum was submitted to the Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus through Deputy Commissioner Chowdhury Moazzam Ahmed on Tuesday demanding the implementation of EPZ in Gobindganj Upazila of Gaibandha.
The memorandum was submitted by the people of all levels of Govindganj.Central unit member and former Gaibandha district Amir Dr Abdur Rahim Sarkar, Amir of the district Jamaat and former chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Abdul Karim Sarkar, Daily Naya Diganta Gaibandha District Representative Syed Rakanujam, BangladeshMd. Akram Hossain, Education Fancing Fanny Md. Abul Hossain Sarkar, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Assistant Professor Ashraful Islam Raju, teacher Maulana Mashiur Rahman, Bardah Dakhil Madrasa Assistant Super Md.
According to the memorandum, it was decided to set up a 5th Rangpur processing area on 12 acres of land on the Sahebganj Iregu farm in Rangpur Chinikal at the 8th meeting of the Beppja Govinner Board in Gobindganj upazila. Because the proposed EPZ is located in the Sahebganj Bazar area, 5 km from Gobindganj upazila of Gaibandha near Rangpur city.
This is 5 km from EPZ to Saidpur Airport, Hilly Saal port 12 km, extended Bogra Airport is located 5 km away. Also, the distance from EPZ to the Mahimaganj Railway Station is 1, the distance of the Gaibandha Railway Station is 12 and the Dhaka-Rangpur highway is only 5 km. Because of this, the EPZ is in a very convenient position in the supply and transportation of communication and goods, and Beppa has given importance to the selection of this place. With the implementation of EPZ here, the door to establish different types of industries and investing foreign investors will open.
The products produced in this country are usually exported abroad. The establishment of various industrial factories, especially, will create a lot of employment.
EPZ implementation, especially for women workers, will create employment for about 2 lakh people, including them. In addition, industrialization employment and exports will increase through EPZ. As a result, the economic growth of the country will be accelerated.
For this reason, at a meeting organized by the Upazila administration on December 5, 2012, it was informed that only 5 acres of land would be handed over to the Santal-Bengalis on a priority basis in accordance with the rest of the land. It was decided to transfer a total of 5 acres of land to Beppzar by Rangpur Chinikal with only 20 acres of the proposed EPZ and 5 acres adjacent.
Meanwhile, all the administrative activities were completed, but the construction of EPZ did not start the start of the movement of Gobindganj. The words of the common people are about 5 people living in this upazila.
