Land Minister Md. Mijanur Rahman Minu has stated that Rajshahi College is not merely an educational institution, but the carrier and bearer of the education and culture of the entire northern region. He referred to the institution as a shared mother to all, urging former and present students to unite under one umbrella to celebrate its 150th founding anniversary.

The minister made these remarks on Thursday evening while speaking as the chief guest at a preparatory meeting held on Hare Road in Dhaka to mark the upcoming 150th anniversary of the historic college.

He noted that the 150-year reunion will build a bridge between past and present generations of students, calling the event a celebration of unity, tradition, and identity.

To make the historic occasion memorable, the minister called upon alumni living at home and abroad to register for the event, suggesting the formation of continent-based alumni committees if necessary.

Highlighting ongoing development efforts, Land Minister Mijanur Rahman Minu shared that with government support, initiatives have been taken to implement various infrastructural projects at Rajshahi College.

Presided over by Rajshahi College Principal Prof Dr. Md. Ibrahim Ali, the meeting was attended by Member of Parliament for Rajshahi-3 Constituency Adv. Mohammad Shafiqul Haq Milon, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Secretary Md. Saidur Rahman Khan, Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Md. Abul Kalam Azad Sweet, and former Home Secretary S.M. Zohurul Islam as special guests.

Senior officials, members of the college alumni association, teachers, former and current students, political leaders, dignitaries, and media representatives were also present at the meeting.
