Lalmohan Mother and Child Welfare Center provides services even in holidays

All officials of Lalmohan Mother and Child Welfare Center in Bhola are working while the government employees  busy spending their holidays after getting an 8-day government holiday from March 29 to April 5 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the staff of Lalmohan Mother and Child Welfare Center are tirelessly providing service to mothers during the holidays. According to the information provided by the organization, 30 successful deliveries have been completed in the last six days (March 29-April 3) of the 8-day holiday of Eid-ul-Fitr. On the night of Chand Raat (March 30), at around 12:45 am, a mother named Swapna from Dakshin Satani village of Farajganj union of the upazila came to the Mother and Child Welfare Center with her relatives. She gave birth early on the day of Eid. Swapna's relatives said that they were very worried about not being able to find doctors and nurses in government and private hospitals and clinics on the occasion of Eid. However, they were relieved of their worries after the opening of the Mother and Child Welfare Center. On the same day, another pregnant mother named Soma (20) came from Satani village. On the day of Eid (March 31), at 7:15 am, her relatives brought a pregnant mother named Nahida (22) from Rayrabad village in Badarpur union of the upazila to the Mother and Child Welfare Center. That afternoon, her relatives brought another pregnant mother named Jharna (30) from Ward No. 8 Western Para of the municipality. They were overwhelmed with emotion after the opening of the Mother and Child Welfare Center and receiving services on the day of Eid. They said that on the day of Eid, everyone is intoxicated with Eid joy. At such a time, there was doubt whether they would get medical services. But the opening of the Lalmohan Mother and Child Welfare Center freed them from their worries. Mira Rani Das, Family Welfare Inspector (FWV) of Lalmohan Mother and Child Welfare Center, said that they have completed 8 successful deliveries on March 29, 6 on March 30, 3 on March 31, 8 on April 1, 1 on April 2 and 4 on April 3. Deputy Director of Bhola District Family Planning Office Md. Moniruzzaman Khan said that their (Lalmohan Mother and Child Welfare Center) work is commendable, they do good work. Regarding the manpower crisis, he said that this crisis exists in the whole of Bhola. Although there are workers all over Bangladesh, workers are not being recruited in Bhola. Meanwhile, the institution has not had a medical officer and cleaning staff for a long time. In the meantime, the conscious public has appreciated the relentless efforts of those on duty to serve the pregnant mothers. At the same time, they have also demanded an increase in the manpower at Lalmohan Mother and Child Welfare Center.
