JASAS human chain in Pirojpur protesting defamation of Ziaur Rahman, Tarique Rahman

A human chain was organized in Pirojpur by the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS) protesting the defamation of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and offensive remarks made against BNP’s acting chairman Tarek Rahman.
The program was held on Saturday at 11 AM in front of the BNP district office in the town.
During the event, speakers strongly condemned the defamatory and disrespectful comments made against Ziaur Rahman and Tarek Rahman and demanded exemplary punishment for those responsible. They stated, “The contribution of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman in protecting the country’s independence, sovereignty, and democracy is unforgettable. Tarek Rahman is currently leading the movement to restore democracy in the country. Any defamation against him is a direct attack on democracy and national independence.” They also urged the government to take legal action against those involved and warned of a tougher movement if such incidents are repeated.
Speakers at the human chain included Gazi Wahiduzzaman Lavlu, Member Secretary of Pirojpur District BNP; Abdus Salam Baten, President of the District Workers’ Party; Sarwar Hossain Hawlader, General Secretary of Pirojpur Municipal BNP; Md. Zahidul Islam, Convenor of District JASAS; Advocate Khairul Bashar Shamim, Member Secretary of District JASAS; Tamanna Zaman, Senior Vice President of the District Mohila Dal; Afzal Hossain Tipu, General Secretary of the District Workers’ Party; Senior Joint Convenor Abul Kalam Sheikh; Joint Convenors Riaz Mahmud and Sohel Rana, among others.
