Human welfare vital for building prosperous nation: MP Abdul Karim

Member of Parliament for Gaibandha-2, Md. Abdul Karim, has said that there is no alternative to human welfare if the country is to be developed in a healthy and sustainable manner. He emphasized that national development can be accelerated only when people live in peace and security, and that those in power must recognize this reality.
The MP made these remarks on Tuesday while attending a cheque distribution ceremony organized by the National Social Welfare Council for voluntary organizations in Gaibandha town as the chief guest.
The event was held at the auditorium of the Gaibandha Town Social Services Office and was moderated by Town Social Services Officer Rajib Kumar Bagchi. Among others, Md. Imam Hasib, Deputy Director of the Gaibandha Social Services Office, also spoke at the program.
During the ceremony, grant cheques totaling Tk 477,000 were distributed among 19 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in the town area.
