Housewife’s body recovered, husband absconding iin Narail

Lohagara Thana police recovered the body of a housewife named Salma Akter (30) from near her home in Lohagara Upazila, Narail.

However, the housewife’s husband, Shahidul, remains absconding after the incident. The deceased’s family claims she was killed in a planned manner on Friday. P

olice recovered the body from the housewife’s parental home in the Gabaria area of Naldi Union in the upazila.

The accused, Shahidul, is the son of Salam Molla from Doharpara village in Lahuria Union. The deceased, Salma Akter, was the daughter of Saidur Rahman from Gachbaria village in Naldi Union.

Lohagara Thana’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sharifull Islam has confirmed the matter.

According to the deceased’s relatives and police, Shahidul, the husband of Salma Akter, came to her parental home in Gachbaria, Naldi Union, on Thursday night. Later, on Friday morning around 10:30 AM, locals and relatives spotted Salma’s body near the house and informed the police. Upon receiving the information, Naldi Police Outpost and Lohagara Thana police recovered the body and sent it to Narail Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.

The deceased’s relatives claim that Salma Akter was killed by her husband Shahidul, who then fled the scene. They have demanded an investigation and legal action regarding the incident.

In this regard, Lohagara Thana OC Sharifull Islam said, there are injury marks on the neck of the body. The body has been sent to the morgue at Narail Sadar Hospital for an autopsy. An investigation will be conducted, and legal action will be taken.
