Hefazat stages protest in Melandaha
Jamalpur Correspondent
Hefazat-e-Islam held a protest rally and procession in Melandaha Upazila of Jamalpur on Thursday at 2 PM, demanding the cancellation of the Women Reform Commission and India’s Waqf Bill.
The procession began at the gate of the Boro Mosque and paraded through the main road of the marketplace before concluding at the central roundabout, where a rally was held.
Speakers at the rally included Hefazat-e-Islam's President Mufti Shamsuddin and General Secretary Mufti Solaiman Hossain.
During the event, the speakers condemned the killing of Muslims and the demolition of mosques in India, calling for an immediate end to such acts. They also criticized the Women Commission in Bangladesh, urging the government to focus on the rehabilitation of sex workers rather than branding all women as such under the guise of reform.
