
Health assistants hold sit-in in Gafargaon for 6-point demands

Health assistants held a sit-in in front of the Upazila Health Complex under the banner of Bangladesh Health Assistant Association in Gafargaon, Mymensingh, demanding the implementation of their 6-point demands.
Local health assistants, assistant health inspectors and health inspectors participated in the program from 8:30 am to 10:00 am on Tuesday.
Azharul Islam, Rubel Mia, Apel Mahmud, Golam Rob and others spoke at the program.
The speakers said, "We are delivering healthcare to the doorsteps of the marginalized communities of the country. However, our long-standing just demands of rank increase, provision of technical ranks, and timely implementation of salary structure remain unresolved."
They said, "If the government does not take immediate steps to implement our demands, more stringent programs will be taken." At that time, they also announced that all activities would be suspended from September 1.
