Police arrested three men including the auto driver for allegedly raping an Engineering college girl on her way home in a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw in Kishoreganj 's Kuliarchar. They were arrested from different places of the district last Thursday and Friday.

Md. Sarowar Jahan, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) in kuliarchar Police Station, confirmed the information about the arrest of three persons in this connection.

According to the police, the main accused auto driver Shah Alam (28) and Tanveer (23) were arrested from Akbarnagar in Bhairab upazila last Thursday night. On Friday evening , a person named Kamal was arrested from Barakharchar village of Kuliarchar upazila on the charge of aiding in the rape. Shah Alam is a resident of Akbarnagar Mirerbagh area of Bhairab.

Police also said that the victim's is a Engineering College student in Barisal. Her house is in Kishoreganj Sadar. Last Wednesday night, he reached Bhairab in Kishoreganj by various vehicles from Barisal. She was raped on her way home in an autorickshaw from there. In this incident, the victim filed a case at the police station on Thursday afternoon.

According to the statement, the college girl boarded a bus from Barisal to Dhaka around 2 o'clock last Wednesday to come home to Kishoreganj. Arrived at Sayedabas bus stand in Dhaka around 9 pm. Reach Bhairab by bus from Syedabad at 12 pm. As there was no bus from Bhairab to Kishoreganj, he boarded a CNG-powered autorickshaw.

There were two male and one female passengers in it. After going a long way, the driver picked up one of his associates on the phone. The college girl fell asleep in the car as she was tired due to the long journey. Meanwhile, the other passengers of the car got down. The plaintiff woke up and saw that he, the driver and the assistant who had called were in the car. At around 2.30 am, the girl was taken down from the auto-rickshaw near a bamboo grove in Champakanda area of Kalakupa in Kuliarchar. The two of them raped her there.

Later they took away his mobile phone and money. He was walking alone late at night when he met a man on the road. When he called the national emergency number 999, the police came and rescued her.victim's stolen mobile set was recovery, Kuliarchar OC added
