Elephant kills mahout's son at National Zoo

A teenager named Zahid (17) died after being attacked by an elephant at the Bangladesh National Zoo in the capital's Mirpur.
The incident took place on Eid day (Thursday) at 11am.
Director Md Rafiqul Islam Talukdar of the National Zoo confirmed the matter to the media this afternoon.
He said that one of our elephant mahouts Azad Ali entered the elephant enclosure at 11am with his son Zahid. At that time the elephant was being cared for. Suddenly, the elephant was startled by the new person and attacked him abruptly.
He said the elephant is usually under the control and direction of the mahout. And no one else is allowed to enter the enclosure except the mahout.
