Elderly man shot dead at home in Maheshkhali
An elderly man named Abul Hossain (55) was reportedly shot dead at his home in Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar, allegedly due to land dispute.The incident occurred early Wednesday morning in the Mohammad Shah Ghona area of the Kalarmaarchar Union in Maheshkhali Upazila.Mohammad Hossain, the brother of the deceased, said that due to a land-related conflict, a group of people associated with the opposing party forcibly entered their home and shot his brother Abul Hossain. He was rushed to the Badarkhali General Hospital in a critically injured state, where the attending doctor declared him dead.OC of Maheshkhali Police Station, Khaisar Hamid, confirmed the incident and said that the body has been sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Authorities are investigating to identify those involved in the incident.
