Eid-Eid -ul-Fitr celebrated in Rangpur with religious fervor

Holy Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated peacefully in Rangpur on Monday with due religious fervor. Eid-ul-Fitr prayers were held in more than three thousand Eidgahs in 33 wards of the Rangpur Metropolitan City Corporation area and 8 upazilas of the district from 8 am to 10:30 am.
The main Eid-ul-Fitr prayer in Rangpur city was held at the Collectorate Eidgah Maidan at 8:30 am. It was led by the Khatib of Rangpur Keramatia Jame Mosque, Maulana Mohammad Bayezid Hossain.
Divisional Commissioner, Rangpur Range DIG of Police, Metropolitan Police Commissioner, District Commissioner and various levels of administrative officials and political leaders and activists offered Eid prayers. Other Eid populus Jamaats of 8 upazilas of Rangpur district were held in Rangpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Eidgah, Badarganj, Taraganj, Gangachara, Kaunia, Pirgachha, Mithapukur and Pirganj Upazila Sadar's central Eidgah ground were held in religious manner. Besides, lots of Eid Jamaat were also held in the remote areas of these Upazilas in mosques and Eidgahs in line with the time of the main Jamaat.
CCTV cameras were installed to create a security perimeter for the Eid Jamaat. Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Majid Ali said that a multi-layered security perimeter was created with members of the law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of people's belongings.
