DUNMUN conference begins at DU

A four-day long DUNMUN conference titled ÔTowards Equitable Governance: Embracing Data-Driven Transformation for an Inclusive World’ has begun on Wednesday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU).
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. Dhaka University Model United Nations Association (DUMUNA) has organized the event.
Secretary General of DUNMUN Fariha Faiyaz presided over the inaugural session while Moderator of DUMUNA Prof. Dr. Md. Delwar Hossain, Director General (ICT Wing) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Syed Muntasir Mamun, Registrar of BRAC University Dr. David Dowland and ex- President of DUMUNA Muhammad Mamun Mia addressed it as special guests.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md Akhtaruzzaman urged the youth community to play an effective role in building ‘Smart Bangladesh’ through innovative ideas and knowledge. He emphasized on analysing of scientific data to develop strategies, formulate policies and take right decisions. He stressed the need for utilizing the capacities of youths properly to make Bangladesh a developed country.
About 500 students from home and abroad are participating at the conference.
