The ‘13th Language Day National Debate Competition’ organized by Ekushey Debating Club, a debate organization of Dhaka University Amar Ekushey Hall, concluded on Sunday .

At the school level, Dhaka Residential Model School and College was the champion and Narayanganj Ideal School was the runner-up in the competition. At the college level, Mirpur Cantonment Public School and College was the champion and BAF Shaheen College was the runner-up.

At the university level, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology Debating Club was the champion and Dhaka University Bijoy Ekattor Hall Debating Club was the runner-up. A total of 18 teams participated at the school level, 20 teams at the college level, and 32 teams at the university level.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan inaugurated the final debate competition as the chief guest.

After the competition, prizes were distributed among the winners at a function held at the hall auditorium on the evening of February 16. The event was presided over by Ekushey Debating Club President Saad Ahmed, with Bangla Academy President Professor Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque and Electoral Reforms Commission Chief Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder as guests of honour, and Amar Ekushey Hall Provost Prof Dr. Istiak M Syed, Ekushey Debating Club Moderator Dr. Md. Shariful Islam, Dhaka University Debating Society President Arpita Goldar and General Secretary Adnan Mustari as special guests. Ekushey Debating Club General Secretary Md.
