
Cumilla City Corporation election campaign gains momentum

Election campaign has began in Cumilla city since getting the symbol.
Poster after poster covered the important-populous areas of the city. Since 2 pm, the campaign miking of the candidates has been increasing the election mood. Since the by-election is only for the post of mayor, all the four candidates are plowing the whole city.
.Candidates and workers supporters are spending time in mass communication campaigns and yard meetings from morning to evening.
On Sunday morning, BNP leader Monirul Haque Sakku campaigned in the city's Rajganj market with the symbol of the table clock. He exchanged pleasantries with all the shopkeepers and buyers of the market and asked them for votes. At that time Monirul Haque Sakku said, I was also the mayor, this has never happened. People of Cumilla city are fed up with autorickshaw-easybike tokens and fees. If I am the mayor - I will stop this.
Awami League leader Tahsin Baher, candidate for bus symbol, wants to vote by mass communication in race course area of the city. At the time, he said that even though I am not a party candidate, I have a large unit of Cumilla Metropolitan Awami League, Jubo League, Volunteer League, Sramik League and all the members and allied organizations with me. There are also Murubbis here, my political companions are also there. My team is with me even if there is no party symbol - I am sure of victory.
Besides, Noor Ur Rahman Mahmud Tanim did mass communication in Sahapara area of Cumilla city. He said the voters that changes are needed for the development of Cumilla . And vote for me for development. I will always stand by the people of Cumilla .
Nizam Uddin Qaiser, a candidate for the horse symbol of journalists in the Kandirpar area of the city, said at the beginning of the campaign on Saturday, there has been no change in the Cumilla City Corporation except for the change of the empty sign board. And what happened was, a task was broken and redone. In the city corporation, nothing has happened except the sharing of work.
Meanwhile, 9 magistrates have been appointed in 27 wards to monitor the rules of conduct in Cumilla City by-elections. Magistrates will observe the code of conduct of all candidates and all election related persons from the commencement of campaigning. If the code of conduct is violated, action will be taken according to the election law, said the returning officer Md. Farhad Hossain.
The candidates have been campaigning vigorously since the allotment of symbols on February 23.
The election environment is becoming crowded with mass communication, distribution of leaflets and street meetings. At the symbol allotment ceremony, the returning officer warned all the candidates that no one can use government facilities to campaign. No government official can take part in the campaign. The police should be informed 24 hours before the yard meeting or road meeting.
One mic per ward can be used from 2 pm to 8 pm. Md. Farhad Hossain, the returning officer, said that if the election code of conduct is violated, it will not be seen who belongs to which party. Commission will take maximum measures for fair elections.
