According to students, guardians and local sources, Nafsi Talukder is an assistant teacher at Kalai Moen Uddin Government High School in Joypurhat. In addition to teaching, she is an influential leader of the local teachers' forum. In the past, she was the leader of a political party. She exerts that influence everywhere, including the school. There are allegations that she does not come to school on time. Various threats are made when she speaks against her. On August 26, around 10:45 am, while coming to class, a student said, "Sir, you came to class late." As soon as he heard this, he first beat some ninth grade students with his hands and then brought a cane and beat a total of 33 students indiscriminately. As a result, some students' backs and hands were broken, so they sought treatment locally. The incident created tension in the school and the area. Meanwhile, the students have complained to the relevant departments, including the Upazila Executive Officer. They want speedy justice.
The ninth grade students complained that as soon as they told us about being late to school, Aso beat us up unjustly. We were cut in different places on our backs and hands and threatened and abused us in various ways, saying that we would fail the SSC exam. We cannot do anything by filing a complaint against him anywhere. We want Nafsi Sir punished.
Accused teacher MAG Nafsi Talukder said, "I went to the hospital. That's why I was a little late. The students of the ninth grade class were talking bad things about me. That's why I beat and disciplined all the students in that class. Can't I beat the students of my school?" When asked about not coming to class properly and breaking the rules, she said that her authorities would understand and said to leave quickly.
Headmaster (acting) Saiful Islam Bakul said that the school started teaching at 10:15. Assistant teacher Nafsi Talukder was teaching in the seventh grade. Nafsi Talukder was going to the seventh grade room at 10:40, about half an hour late. At that time, the ninth grade students saw her and said, "Sir, you are going to the classroom late today too."
