Coast Guard conducts firefighting drill, safety campaign in Chattogram

The Bangladesh Coast Guard, in collaboration with Karnaphuli Fire Service, conducted a firefighting drill and a public awareness campaign on fire safety in Chattogram on Tuesday.
The three-hour event was held at the multipurpose hall of Coast Guard Base Chattogram from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, said Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan in a press release on Tuesday noon.
Students from Aiyub Bibi City Corporation School and College spontaneously participated in the drill. The session provided guidance on potential causes of fires, primary firefighting techniques, and the responsibilities of the general public in preventing fire hazards.
Along with the maintaining law and order in coastal and riverine areas, the Bangladesh Coast Guard regularly organizes various public awareness initiatives, the press release added.
