Coast Guard -Fisheries Depat joint raid : Illegal current nets seized from Padma River in Louhajang

A joint operation in the Padma River at Louhajang, Munshiganj, led to the seizure of 50,000 meters of illegal current nets and 49 pieces of banned Chinese 'Duari' nets on Monday.
The operation was carried out by the Louhajang Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer's Office and Padma Bridge Coast Guard.
Confirming the news, Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Md. Rezaul Islam stated that on Monday, from 10 AM to 3 PM, a joint operation was conducted along the Padma River in the Ghoradouh, Konkosar, Haldia, and Padma Bridge areas of Louhajang.
During the operation, 50,000 meters of illegal current nets and 49 Chinese Duari nets were seized. The confiscated nets were later destroyed by burning.
