Coast Guard, RAB joint operation : 7 smugglers arrested in Teknaf with 40,000 pieces of Yaba

In a joint operation by Coast Guard and RAB, seven Yaba smugglers were arrested in Teknaf's Shahpari along with 40,000 pieces of Yaba.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq gave this information on Saturday afternoon.
Based on secret information, a joint operation was conducted in the sea area adjacent to the Maheshkhalia Para Hatchery under Teknaf Police Station at 2 am on Saturday, March 22, 2025. During the operation, 07 Yaba smugglers were arrested along with 40,000 pieces of Yaba, which were specially hidden in a bag inside the engine room of an engine-powered wooden boat in the said area.
The arrested smugglers are :Sultan Ahmed (35), Jahangir Hossain (26), Abdullah (20), Riaz Uddin (19), Abdul Mannan (25), Kamal Hossain (30) Jahangir Alam (29), all residents of Teknaf.
Legal action against the seized Yaba and the arrested smugglers is under process.
Bangladesh Coast Guard has been patrolling 24 hours to maintain the law and order situation in the country. Through which the law and order situation in the coastal and riverine areas under the jurisdiction of the Coast Guard has improved to a great extent. The Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future as well.
