Closing ceremony of month-long tree plantation program held in Naogaon

With the slogan “Do Planned Forestry, Green Bangladesh Gari” – Naogaon Environmental Development Organization has concluded a month-long tree plantation programme.
This tree planting and completion ceremony was held at Gol Chattar area of by-pass road of Naogaon town on Thursday afternoon.
Naogaon Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Abdul Awal was the chief guest on the occasion.
On this occasion, Sadar Upazila BNP President Dewan Mostak Ahmed Raja and Naogaon District Combined Journalist Union President Sadekul Islam were present as special guests. Locals including Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al Mamun were present at this time.
After planting trees, the Deputy Commissioner said, "There is no substitute for trees to protect the environment. Today's initiative is not just planting trees, it is a commitment to build a green and livable Bangladesh for future generations. Each of us should plant at least three trees and take care of them.
To protect the balance of the environment, everyone including the government, political parties, social organizations must come forward."
Special guest journalist Sadekul Islam said, "There is no alternative to planting trees to save the environmentIt is not only necessary to plant, but also to take proper care of the tree. This initiative of Naogaon Environment Development Organization is undoubtedly commendable. Journalist society will always support such positive work.”
President of the event, Executive Director of Naogaon Environmental Development Organization and National Award-winning journalist Mahmudun Nabi Belal said that everyone should come forward to plant trees to protect the environment. We have been able to plant about 10,000 fruit, forest, medicinal and ornamental trees this season and about 15,000 tree saplings have been distributed among the students of various educational institutions in 11 upazilas of the district.
Besides, 2000 tree saplings have been distributed in 7 days in Naogaon tree fair in '2025. Our plantation activities will continue.
