Child's body recovered from pond in Araihazar
Araihazar (Narayanganj) Correspondent:
A child named Abdullah (8) died after drowning in a pond in Araihazar, Narayanganj. The incident occurred in the Dasirdia area of the upazila on Thursday morning.
The deceased Abdullah is the son of Anwar Hossain, who lives next to the Dasirdia graveyard in the upazila.
According to local sources, Abdullah could not be found since 10 am on Thursday. When the matter came to light in the area, relatives and locals started searching for him in various places. At one stage, locals saw his body floating in the pond water of Dasirdia Newazir.
Later, locals rescued him and quickly took him to Araihazar Upazila Health Complex. There, emergency department doctor Dr. Mehedi Hasan Shimul examined the child and declared him dead. He said that the child died before being brought to the hospital.
Araihazar Police Station OX Md. Sabzel Hossain said that police were sent to the spot after receiving the information. No complaint has been filed by the family.
