Capital increase in DU Geography and Environment Depat Alumni Scholarship Trust Fund

The capital of the ‘Geography and Environment Department Alumni Scholarship Trust Fund’ of Dhaka University has been increased. With the aim of increasing the capital.
Alumni Association President Md. Mejbahur Rahman Tipu handed over a cheque of Tk 20 lakh to Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan on Sunday. With this donation, the capital of this trust fund has been increased to Tk 40 lakh.
The cheque handover ceremony was attended by Dhaka University Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences Prof Dr. Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of the Department of Geography and Environment Prof Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam, Founding President of Geography and Environment Department Alumni Association A. De Deen Mohammad Khan, General Secretary Professor Dr. Nazmun Nahar, Treasurer Md. Ashraf Ali Akhand (Bokul) and Executive Member Md. Mamunur Rahman Mandal were present.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan called upon the alumni to work in the interest of the department and said that the alumni should come forward for the overall development of the university including the development of education and research, providing scholarships to indigent and meritorious students, and infrastructural development. In this regard, he emphasized on further strengthening the relationship between alumni and the university.
